BIO

The Beginning

Veerle Pieters is a Belgium-born designer, specifically from the Belgian coast near Bruges. Her interests include drawing, illustration, Swiss typography and design, and art work from around the world. Her unique talents, besides being a rockin’ coder, consist of naturally writing her name and other words backwards and her ambidextrous ability. Under the name Duoh!, Pieters began a career in print in 1992. Website design, multimedia development and user interfaces wasn’t included in her list of things to do until 1995. Duoh! officially became a public company in 2000 with her partner in life and career Geert Leyseele. Since then, Peiters has been able to choose her projects based on her likability of the company of the client, working with the Library of Congress, small businesses and large businesses. She also promotes CSS through tutorials in her personal journal.
